The 2022 Tony Awards will return to CBS and Radio City

Hello Tonys! It’s so nice to have you back where you belong.

The 2022 Tony Awards, which celebrate the best of Broadway, will resume as usual, with a live broadcast on Sunday, June 12 on CBS, the American Theater Wing announced Tuesday.

In addition to an hour-long presentation of “exclusive content” on Paramount+, the 75th annual ceremony will again be televised on Network TV from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will be held at Radio City Music Hall.

Last years Pandemic hobbling show The tribute to 2019-2020 productions has been postponed to Fall 2021, broadcast primarily on the streaming platform and held at the more modest Winter Garden Theater which today hosts the revival of “the music man‘ starring Hugh Jackman.

In this show, most of the nominated musicals performed away from their theaters. And even in a much smaller house, not every seat was occupied.

With more than twice as many eligible new musicals this year, selling Tonys tickets shouldn’t be a problem.

Musicals like “six“, “north country girl,” “MJ‘ and ‘A Strange Loop’ hope to hear their names when the nominees are announced on May 3rd.
