‘That’s the level they’ve lowered’: Ian Wright shocked Everton sold 27-year-old

Ian Wright says Alex Iwobi’s summer transfer from Everton to Fulham shows the level to which the Merseyside giants have sunk.
The Arsenal legend believes Alex Iwobi was Sean Dyche’s “best creative” player but Everton let the 27-year-old go.
It has been pointed out that if Everton were to sell a key player in the past, Wayne Rooney would be joining the dominant force of Manchester United and not someone like Fulham, as he said Premier League Productions (09/17/23 at 1:10 p.m.).
Now Everton’s financial difficulties and the sale of Iwobi, which fetched a transfer fee of £22m, are well documented (Evening Standard)could be related to that.
This could be the case as those in charge at Goodison Park need to balance their books, with Wright sharing his thoughts on a potential takeover of the club.
All in all, dark clouds continue to form over Everton with a lack of wins in the Premier League and concerns over who might replace Farhad Moshiri and Iwobi.

Wright is not impressed by Iwobi’s transfer
“Everton have, in my opinion, sold their best creative player of recent seasons in Iwobi,” said Wright. “And they sold him to Fulham.
“That’s the level they’ve sunk to. I don’t respect Fulham. We talk about Rooney’s move to Manchester United, big players and even Arteta’s move to Arsenal.
“Players now go to big clubs. Everton sells certain players, top players, to Fulham. That’s how far they’ve fallen.
“It must be aimed at his door, Moshiri’s door. Simply because he came in with the money and he doesn’t realize that it’s a different level of ownership now. He didn’t have the specialist knowledge to do that.”

Iwobi is an underrated character
It’s understandable that the 27-year-old lacked that ruthless attitude in front of goal, but it still shouldn’t obscure what he did outside the box.
Iwobi carried the ball effortlessly, was reliable even without the ball and could play deep in both midfield and on the wings.
He is very different to what Everton have in midfield now and the current static players that are in there because they need a player like Iwobi alongside them.
