Texas Mounts Big Comeback Defeat Washington, Advance To Elite Eight

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Texas fell 2-0 to Washington and lost 15-10 in the third set before going on to hit 40-16 throughout the fourth set to draw the game 2-2.

The Longhorns never took the lead in the fifth and final set on their way to a 15-9 win to complete the comeback and close a 3-2 win.

With the win, Texas advanced to the regional finals for the 15th time in the past 16 seasons. Old Big 12 nemesis Nebraska will be waiting for the Longhorns after Husker sweeps Illinois in a night cap at Gregory Gym. Nebraska’s Lexi Sun, a senior outsider, started his career at UT before moving to Husker.

Logan Eggleston leads all players with 20 kills, and Skylar Fields adds 15, including match points.
