Texas high school football: Watch Lago Vista aim for first state title game against Lorena

AUSTIN (KXAN) – It’s the first time since 2010 that the Lago Vista Vikings have reached the state semifinals, but Thursday night’s victory at Georgetown will further cement the team’s history this year.

If the Vikings get past Lorena Leopards at Georgetown ISD Stadium in the 3A Division 1 semifinal, This will be the first time the school competes for the state championship.

Young midfielder Bowen Stobb is the attacking catalyst for the Vikings and a scoring threat in the air as well as on the ground. Stobb threw 1,748 yards and 19 touchdowns while running 1,005 yards and scored 12 points. Senior rerun Logan Parsons launched 1,540 javelin with 10 hits to anchor the game on “solid ground”.

Lorena, from south of Waco, lost the first two games of the season but has since been a hit with 12 wins in a row. Leopards scored 50 or more points in each playoff and had two 1,000-yard dashes against seniors Reed Michna and Rhett Hanson.
