Teresa Giudice cooks her Italian Christmas dinner

Teresa Giudice has some big fish to fry.

The ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star upholds the Italian tradition of the feast of the seven fish at her Christmas table.

“I think I’m doing more than seven fish,” she told the Post. “I make the fish like my mother taught me.”

The Catholic custom of abstaining from meat before holidays was brought to the United States by immigrants from southern Italy. Many Italian-Americans like Giudice – both of whose parents were born there – still hold onto the tradition.

The Paterson, NJ native makes not one, but two versions of baccala, or salted cod.

“We make baccala in red sauce and baccala with olive oil and vinegar,” said Giudice, 50. She also assembles a seafood salad with squid and shrimp.

Dinner wouldn’t be complete without a pasta course. “For the main course of our pasta, I put octopus in my red sauce,” she said.

The newlywed, who launched the weekly podcast Namaste B$tches in September, will be hosting the holidays at her home and has invited her husband Luis Ruelas’ family.

Her daughters – Gia, 21, Gabriella, 18, Milania, 16, and Audriana, 13 – are staying out of the kitchen and as of now will not help prepare holiday meals.

“They don’t have that yet,” said the mother-of-four, who is named after her maternal grandmother. “They have set the table.”

The reality star-turned-actress makes her Christmas film debut in ‘Fuhgeddabout Christmas,’ which premieres December 21 on VH1. The film was a labor of love for its New York and New Jersey-based Italian-American TV stars, including Staten Island native Renee Graziano from Mob Wives and Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore.

Passaic County rapper Justina Valentine, who stars in VH1’s improv comedy series Wild ‘n Out, based the screenplay on her own life about an Italian-American singer.

“It’s Justina’s story. I don’t want to give it away. You have to see the movie,” said Giudice, who plays Valentin’s Guido Godmother. “Everyone will love it. You will laugh.”

Giudice, who recently starred opposite Guadagnino in season 31 of Dancing with the Stars, said she never met him while working on the film, but they met on the dance show.

“Vinny commented on my Instagram post. He says, ‘We keep doing the same things together,'” she said.
