Teenager, 16, charged with murder after asking for help disposing of body on Instagram

Bensalem, Pennsylvania police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Friday after he allegedly killed a girl and turned to Instagram for help disposing of the body.

Bensalem Police said 9-1-1 operators received a call from parents of a concerned party who said their daughter had received an Instagram video chat from a 16-year-old acquaintance who was later than the 16-year-old Joshua Cooper just got someone killed.

In the video, Cooper flipped the video image to show the legs of a blood-covered person before asking for help disposing of the body.

Police said they were made aware that Cooper lived at the Top of the Ridge Trailer Park in Bensalem and officers went to inspect the property.

When officers arrived, police said, a teenage boy ran from the back of the trailer.

Officers then went into the RV and saw a dead girl with a gunshot wound lying on the bathroom floor.

Police said they also noted that “significant steps” were being taken to clean up the scene.

Other officers searched for Cooper, a short time later he was located and taken into custody.

Cooper was charged as an adult with criminal murder, possession of crime tools, and evidence tampering.

He was arraigned in Bucks County District Court, where Judge Stacy Wertman refused bail for the suspect and sent him to the Edison Juvenile Detention Center.
