Teen shot in head in East Raleigh grocery store

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — A shooting in East Raleigh on Tuesday night has sent a young man to the hospital.

According to the guard commander, the victim was shot in the head and is believed to be a juvenile.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. at the 1600 block of New Bern Avenue on the premises of Zack’s Grocery Mart.

The victim was transported from the scene to WakeMed Hospital. No further details about his injuries were released. This is an active scene and police are working to secure it.
