Sylvester Stallone reveals ’90s feud with Arnold Schwarzenegger

In 90’s Hollywood, the ultimate battle between Rocky and the Terminator took place.
Long before they starred together in The Expendables franchise, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were bitter rivals.
“We couldn’t bear to be in the same galaxy together for a while,” Stallone, 76, said on Britain’s The Jonathan Ross Show. “We really, really hated each other.”
In fact, Stallone said their feud was so intense that they would feud over movie projects, prompting Schwarzenegger to trick the ‘Rambo’ star over a much-maligned film: ‘Stop! Or my mother will shoot.”
“He’s pretty smart. He’s walking around town and he’s like, ‘I can’t wait to do this movie,'” Stallone said of the 75-year-old former California governor. “I go to my agent, ‘Take that thing away from him. Get people options on me.’ ”

And Stallone did get the part in the comedy starring Estelle Getty from The Golden Girls as his gun-wielding mom. But it was all part of Schwarzenegger’s diabolical plan.
“I got it and I said, ‘What the fuck is that,'” Stallone said. “He’s like, ‘Ha, ha, ha!’ ”

But Stallone – who now stars as aging mobster Dwight Manfredi in the new Paramount+ series Tulsa King – pointed out that his Escape Plan co-star failed his own film, including 1994’s Junior Schwarzenegger plays a scientist who, in an experiment, fathers a child and eventually gives birth to a baby girl in the popular comedy starring Danny DeVito and Emma Thompson.
“At least I wasn’t pregnant in one movie, Arnold,” Stallone joked. “We’re even.”
