Streaming star Sykkuno says it would be “cool” to get involved in his own boxing event, but he has some concerns about who he would be fighting after fans suggested he take on pal Disguised Toast.
The fact that influencers and internet stars get into the boxing ring is nothing new, after all it has been an internet phenomenon for several years. However, the whole thing has risen by a few notches in the last few months.
Events like YouTubers vs. TikTokers, Showstars UK vs. USA and iDubbbz’s Creator Clash have reignited interest in influencer boxing, and many YouTubers have expressed interest in getting involved in subsequent events.
That includes, quite surprisingly, Sykkuno. The streaming star, who recently quit Twitch for YouTube, thinks it would be “cool” to get in the ring, but he’s unsure about his fans’ suggestion that he fight his good friend Disguised Toast .
How many, Sykkuno watched iDubbbz’s Creator Clash on May 14th and had his say when he started his stream a day later. The streamer praised the fighters for their involvement and one fan was quick to suggest he should fight Disguised Toast at an event hosted by OfflineTV.
“Sykk vs Toast? Here’s the problem guys, here’s what I think. I think it would be cool, I think it would be hotter to compete against your friends but at the same time, do you really want to get into a situation where you either beat up your friend or get beat up yourself?” replied the streamer.
“If I did, hopefully it would be someone I don’t know that well,” he added, noting that it would be “weird” to want to fight your friend because at the end of the day someone gets hurt.
Other viewers joked that Sykkuno should fight his other friends, including Valkyrae, but he noted that at least he and Toast would be an even fight.
Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen, but an OfflineTV-centric boxing event would certainly be a huge spectacle.
