Swain gets a League of Legends “Rework” in Season 12: Changes, Release Date

Riot continues its “mid-scope update” reworks for League of Legends champions, with Noxian Grand General Swain joining the ever-growing list in Season 12. It comes after the buffs planned for patch 12.6 were postponed due to major changes.

Swain has been struggling with Summoner’s Rift for some time. The Noxian Grand General didn’t really live up to that title, having been relegated to the supporting role, which is where he’s most popular these days.

Even then he fights. As of LoL patch 12.6, he has one of the lowest pick rates in the game. according to LoLalytics.

With this in mind, Riot recognized the need for Swain changes. Buffs were planned for the above update but were denied days before the patch was released.

However, the process was not fruitless. Swain gets a “mini makeover”. League of Legends season 12on the same scale that has been successful for a number of other dated champions over the last year.

Swain mini-rework in League of Legends Season 12: details

Riot hasn’t shared many details about the Swain changes coming later in League of Legends Season 12 – although it’s being worked on concurrently with the Olaf and Taliyah overhauls.

The previous buffs, according to developer ‘TheTruexy’were sent with the intention of “shifting power from less than satisfying places into the spells that make Swain, well, Swain”.

This likely marks a general move back to the top and middle from his commonly played roles of bot lane and support.

Given the savage success of Ahri and Rengar’s reworks (Janna’s was a different kind of success), which got to the heart of the issues in their respective communities, Swain Mains are hoping for similar treatment.

League of Legends Swain Mini Rework Release Date

Riot hasn’t said when to expect the upcoming Swain changes to be revealed, but it might not be long before we find out what’s next for the Grand General – it’s probably just a matter of time in League of Legends Season 12.

Hopefully Swain players can bolster the mage, whose popularity and power has dwindled over the past year in favor of newer champions that dish out more burst damage and sustain.
