Suspects charged in death of Russian model Evgeniia Smirnova who fell 80ft to her death

A model and two of her friends have been charged in the death of a webcam girl who fell 25 meters from a hotel during a “sex party”.

Evgeniia Smirnova, 37, fell to her death from the eighth floor of a resort in Phuket, Thailand, on May 31.

American Jamaal Smith, 38, Jordanian Ahmad Alatoom, 28, and Russian Natalia Kosenkova, 35, have all been charged with manslaughter.

All three face ten years in prison if convicted.

Cops said the three friends claimed Evgeniia was very drunk when she climbed an outside staircase between the seventh and eighth floors, the Bangkok Post reports.

Police Chief Amphon Buarapphon, and an autopsy found a very high level of alcohol in her blood.

However, he added that police are continuing a homicide investigation into her death and are looking for any signs of physical assault or arguments.

Evgenia was found in only her underwear with fatal head injuries and a broken leg after falling from the complex.

She was found holding human hair, which Thai police tested for DNA.

It is known that the Russian woman had social media accounts under another name and live streaming shows on adult websites until shortly before her death.

In one, she introduced herself as a “web model” and welcomed viewers into her closed online space.

Originally from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Smirnova moved to Moscow, where she left for Phuket on May 25.

Reports citing police said there was evidence of a “sex, drug and alcohol party” at the Emerald Terrace residential complex, from which Smirnova fell to his death.

Kosenkova, a model and DJ who once worked as a dental assistant and has traveled to Dubai and Ukraine, previously said Smirnova’s death was an “unfortunate incident”.

Russian Natalia Kosenkova denied reports that the party was about sex and drugs.

She said: “The only thing I can say is that this was an unfortunate incident, but it was not murder and none of those involved are at fault.”

And she denied reports in Thai media that the party included sex and drugs, claiming police found condom wrappers and finely ground cannabis.

“I didn’t know Evgenia Smirnova until that evening. I didn’t know the girl, she just came to the party we were at.

“And she called her friend [Alatoom]who also came and behaved inappropriately.

“I can say that about me and my boyfriend [Smith]whom I have known for a long time behaved with dignity and decency.

“The police trust us. The police say they are not worried about us.”

She added, “I’m just a tourist here… I’ve lived here for five months.

“I am an ordinary tourist. It was a real spree – someone dies here every day.”
