Suspects are accused of cash fraud in the amount of more than $26,000


Authorities are hunting for suspects who they believe stole more than $26,000 by cashing in with fraudulent checks.

The incident occurred on January 21 at a Check Cashing store at 11400 S. Cleveland Ave. just before closing time, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

A group of individuals cashed what appeared to be paychecks, between $850 and $998 each, for a total value of $26,733.

Crime Stoppers said all checks turned out to be fraudulent.
