Suspect arrested after shooting with a gun in Tranquility Park near the Pride Parade, police said

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department has arrested a suspect who shot a firearm into the ground in Tranquility Park.

The incident happened around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect did not fire the gun near the Pride Parade route, but rather near Tranquility Park, police said.

HPD said the man who shot the gun into the ground has been arrested and no injuries have been reported.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.

Investigators will work to interview any witnesses who were at the scene.
