Surveillance footage shows suspects in Daniel Enriquez shooting

New surveillance footage shows a man wanted in connection with Sunday’s fatal, unprovoked straphanger shooting in Manhattan.

Authorities believe the man, who appears in photos wearing a dark jacket, white mask and light-colored trousers tweeted by Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell – is the suspect in the late morning killing of 48-year-old Daniel Enriquez.

@NYPDDetectives need your help identifying and locating this man wanted for murder in the tragic, senseless shooting of a man on a “Q” train approaching Canal/Center St. station on Sunday,” Sewell wrote.

Enriquez was shot and killed by a total stranger in the last car of the northbound train at around 11:42 a.m., authorities said.

“According to witnesses, the suspect walked back and forth in the same carriage and, without provocation, pulled out a gun and shot the victim at point-blank range as the trains [were] Crossing the Manhattan Bridge,” NYPD Department Chief Kenneth Corey said at a briefing.

As the train crossed the bridge and entered Canal Street Station, a witness to the shooting pulled the emergency brakes.

Train conductor Luis Irizarry tried to revive Enriquez, but to no avail.

Enriquez was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Enriquez, who lived in Park Slope and had worked as an investment researcher for Goldman Sachs for nine years, was on his way to brunch when he was killed, his sister Griselda Vile said Sunday.

“And the worst thing is, even if they catch that person, they’re going to be out,” she added, touching on the state’s bail reform laws that have brought so many criminals back onto the streets.

“I wish you would go back to Mayor Adams and tell him the city is not safe,” she added. “My brother just became a statistic on his way into town. He was shot at point blank range.”
