The NHS states that the main signs of Covid are a new persistent cough, loss of taste and a high temper – but people who contract Omicron have suffered from a wide range of symptoms.

Experts have now confirmed that there are signs in the ear that may indicate that you have Omicron.

Dr. Konstantina Stankovic, chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University, USA, said ear pain is becoming a common sign of infection.

Her team learned that people infected with Covid can develop symptoms in the inner ear.

To test their theory, the team recreated a model of the inner ear and put it to the Covid test.

Dr. Stankovic says that the infection can appear in the ear and it is likely to come from the nose.

This, she said, underscores the benefit of wearing a mask, as if you wear a mask it’s less likely for the virus to enter through your nose.

She adds: “If you notice hearing loss or dizziness or ringing in your ears, don’t dismiss them.

“Let’s get it formally tested. In some of our patients, we’ve found that hearing loss is the only sign of a Covid infection,” she said. 7News.

Data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) states that the most commonly reported symptoms are cough, fatigue and headache.

These symptoms are different from the three main symptoms of coronavirus given by the NHS, which have not changed since Covid reached our shores in March 2020.

It is important that if you think you have Covid, you should be tested and follow the isolation guidelines, in which state you need to be isolated for five days.

While Covid won’t be a mild illness for everyone, most people who have had it say it’s ‘like a cold’.

A string of extremely active research showed Omicron to be milder than other strains in the vaccine, with the UK’s first official report revealing the risk of hospitalization as 50 to 70% lower than Delta.

Health officials have repeatedly said the Covid booster shots protect against Omicron and offer the best chance of weathering the pandemic.

However, experts have warned that there are four symptoms which you may not notice as they can be disguised as something else.

Fatigue, aches, loss of appetite and feeling sick can all be signs of Covid.

While they could be a sign of another illness, it’s important to get tested.

However, if the test is positive, you can recover the virus at home.

While you may have cold-like symptoms, there are some things you can do to ease them and help you recover faster.

Boots Chief Pharmacist, Marc Donovan suggested a series of simple steps that can be taken to help recover and support your immune system.

He explains that drinking enough water, eating healthy, increasing your vitamin intake and taking paracetamol are ways that can help.
