Strict lineup for 2022: Meet the contestants, from Helen Skelton to Fleur East

Be sure to come dance 2022 is in full swing, with a whole new roster of celebrities, from presenter Helen Skelton to singer-songwriter Fleur East.
This year, the BBC show returns for its 20th anniversary series, once again presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The first line-up announcements were made on August 4th, and more names were announced every day for the next two weeks.
The 2022 list includes actors, musicians, comedians and more.
Meet them all below…
Will Mellor
Will Mellor was the first to be announced

Mellor is best known for his roles in Two pints of lager and a packet of chips and Broadchurch.
His other credits include Hollyoaks, exercise of dutyand most recently ITV soap Coronation Streetin which he played Harvey Gaskell.
Of his participation, Mellor said: “I’m honestly so excited to be a part of this Be sure to come dance this year! I won’t lie, it’s totally out of my comfort zone and I know it’s going to be a big challenge, but that’s what life is about.
“It’s my mom’s favorite show too and she’s had a really tough few years so I’m doing it for her too. Bring it on!”

Kym Swamp
Kym Marsh attends ‘Strictly ‘2022’

Marsh rose to fame as a member of pop band Hear’Say after winning the ITV talent series pop stars in 2001. However, she continued to pursue an acting career and was cast as Michelle Connor Coronation Street.
Of her appointment, Marsh said, “I’ve thought about it Strict for years, but times never worked out. I’m so glad they have this year!
“I’m a huge fan of the show and can’t believe I’ll be watching from home in my pajamas and actually dancing in front of the judges in a glitter dress, it’s unreal!”

Richie Anderson – ELIMINATED
Richie Anderson is the third celebrity contestant announced for Strictly
Anderson presenting travel bulletins on BBC Radio 2 breakfast showand is a regular host of The One Show, said, “It’s a dream come true! I can’t wait to get into those glitter and sequins and dance across the world’s most famous dance floor! Strict is the ultimate feel good show, once I hear that iconic theme tune it’s just pure escape.
“I will have to cancel my legendary Strict I’m sure my friends and family will understand that I throw a nightly kitchen party every year. It’s also a great honor to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important that we have this involvement in such a big show.”
Anderson will take part in the show’s second all-male partnership.

Kaye Adams – ELIMINATED
Kaye Adams is one of three Adams in the cast

That Permissive women moderator said BBC: “I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties unforgettable and I can’t think of a better way than to show the world my two left feet. Pray for me!”

Jayde Adams
Adams will appear on Strictly in 2022

Appears on Strict long time Alma is not normal Star Adams’ dream as she told him BBC: “Since watching the first series in 2004, I’ve felt like every step I’ve taken in my career over the last 11 years has been Strictly. I can’t express the feelings I’m feeling, it means so much to me and my family.”

Ellie Simmonds – ELIMINATED
Simmonds will hit the Strictly dance floor

The gold medal-winning Paralympian said she was “absolutely petrified” to take part in the show, adding, “To be asked to be part of the show Strict Family is just so exciting and I can’t wait, it’s going to be so much fun. I’m counting the minutes until it starts; Learning to dance, meeting my partner and everyone else involved in the show.”

Tyler West
Tyler West will attend

“I was having cramps when I started writing this,” said the Kiss FM radio host, TV presenter and DJ. “It’s going to be a crazy incredible journey that will no doubt be SO far out of my comfort zone. It’s a show that means so much to me and my family, and I can’t wait to get some serious dancing on this shiny dance floor… with a side full of sequins.”

Matt Goss – ELIMINATED

The 53-year-old is best known for being one half of the ’80s pop band The Bros, in which he sang alongside his brother Luke.
Goss admitted he was nervous about being on the reality series, but said he’s looking forward to “getting started”. He has previously appeared on Strict 2013 as part of the Christmas special.

Ellie Taylor

Taylor is known as a regular guest on the BBCs Mock The Week, The Mash Report and Live in the Apollo. She is a co-presenter on Channel 4 The great pottery throw and also stars in Apple TV’s multi-award-winning comedy Teddy Lasso. her debut book, My child and other mistakesbecame a Sunday Times bestseller in 2021.
“Well, cover me in fake tan and roll me in sequins!” She said. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of it Strict 2022! I’ve been watching the show for years so being able to hit the dance floor is a dream come true for both me and my mom who is one Strict great fan!
“Right now, I’m focusing on the excitement and the glitter, preferring to ignore the fact that I have the dance ability of a newborn giraffe. Bring it on!”

Molly Rainford

Singer Rainford rose to fame at the age of 11 as the youngest ever finalist Britain’s Got Talent. She is currently the star of the CBBC show Nova Jones, in which she plays an intergalactic pop superstar. She has also released two EPs and her biggest single “Commitment” has racked up millions of streams.
“I’m so excited to be a part of it Be sure to come dancesaid the singer and actor. “I’ve been following it for years and can’t wait to meet the pros and the other contestants! I can’t wait to learn the moves and dance!”

Tony Adams
Tony Adams joins Strictly

Former Arsenal and England footballer Adams said of his appointment: “To say I’m excited is an understatement – the allure of the sequins and the reputation of the salsa make me trade in my battered old football boots for a pair Strict soft shoes.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be giving my all at this year’s 20th anniversary Be sure to come dance. I can’t wait to meet my partner – God help her – and start dancing.”

Fleur east
Fleur East brings on her dance

East rose to fame after achieving that X factor Finale in 2014, after which the singer-songwriter released two albums. Since 2018, East has presented and continues to present The Hits Radio Breakfast Show Saturday night snack by Ant & Dec and game show The emptiness.
Speaking of participation Strict, East said: “I’m equally nervous and excited to be part of this year’s Strictly cast. I look forward to learning new skills and I want to absorb every moment of this magical experience. It is a great honor to be on the show after years of watching it with my father who loved it so much.
“Unfortunately, my father is no longer with us, but I know that he will be watching over the ballroom in spirit. I’m doing this to make him and my family proud and I can’t wait to put on my dancing shoes!”

Hamza Yassin
Hamza Yassin will enter the dance floor

country file Host Yassin is known to younger viewers as Ranger Hamza from the live action show CBeebies Let us go for a walk.
He said: “I’m sure all the candidates for Strict this year I got a call that they will be there Strict, while for me I am the outsider. I got a satellite SMS alert from my agent that said in capital letters, ‘You’re on Strictly woop, woop!’”
He added: “Never in a million years did I think I would be on a show this cool. I’ve been watching it for years and can’t believe I’ll actually be dancing live to UK audiences. My dance skills are currently at the level of the 1970’s disco vibe, but I’m willing to work hard and every time I get the chance I’ll shake – shake until you can!”

James Bye – ELIMINATED
James Bye is the latest ‘Strictly’ announcement

Actor Bye, best known as Martin Fowler EastEnders the 14th celebrity has been there since 2014 Strict 2022. He has also appeared in The great train robbery, humming-bird, The Hooligan Factory and Graveyard Crossing.
However, Bye insists his acting background doesn’t give him an edge on the dance floor. “I’m not known for my flapping or sparkling toes — in fact, my kids regularly laugh at my dad dancing, but it’s an honor to be asked and I’ll do my best,” he said.

Helen skeleton
Helen Skelton was the last contestant to be announced

country file and Blue Peter Host Skelton said she’s “really excited to dive into a fun adventure.”
“I made the Christmas version of Strict the other year,” Skelton said. “The hair is the best, the makeup is amazing, the costumes are amazing. Who gets to go to work and be made to look a little like Beyonce and have a fun time?
“I thought this is insane not to do it, of course I should, it’s going to be so much fun.”
