Stranger Things: Will this be the show’s final season?

After a break of almost three years stranger things finally returns to Netflix for its fourth season.

The hit sci-fi drama – which follows a group of friends as they search for answers after witnessing supernatural activity – is slated to release the upcoming series in two parts.

Volume one will appear on May 27th, five weeks later the second volume will follow on July 1st.

Despite the long hiatus between final episodes, Netflix has announced that fans can expect one more chapter before the series concludes with its final fifth season.

In an open letter sent to Netflix in February 2022, the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, confirmed that “season five will be the last” and called season four “the beginning of the end.”

In a previous conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Ross Duffer confirmed there would be another season after the upcoming one. “The fourth season will not be the end,” he explained. “We know what the end is and we know when it is. [The pandemic] gave us time to look ahead and figure out what’s best for the show. As we started filling this in, we got a better idea of how long it would take us to tell this story.”

Ahead of her much-anticipated return, star Finn Wolfard said the show has darkened as the series’ cast has aged, much like the Harry Potter franchise did.

The rest of the cast have also warned younger fans that this next season will be “disturbing”.

A terrifying new villain from Upside Down is introduced in the official Season 4 trailer.
