Stranger Things star says he’s discussed ways dead characters can return

The actor who became the newest stranger things Character to be written off series says he’s discussed a way his character could return.

The hit Netflix sci-fi series released the final two episodes of its fourth season on Friday (July 1).

Spoilers follow for those stranger things Season 4 finale…

In the feature-length finale of season four, Joseph Quinn’s character, Eddie Munson, sacrificed himself in The Upside Down to become the newest stranger things character meet a horrible end.

But in an interview with radio timesQuinn revealed he’d been in talks with co-star Joe Keery (who plays Steve Harrington) about a possible return.

“Me and Joe Keery were discussing how I could somehow do this [come back]… maybe I’d be like a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something,” he said, referring to Gaten Matarazzo’s character Dustin.

“As if there could be a space for something like that, something a little bit supernatural,” he added.

Despite this, Quinn claimed he was happy with his character’s arc.

“I think there’s a great beginning, a great middle, and a great ending for the character,” he continued. “And as an actor, you want characters with arcs like that.

“While it would have been great to come back for another season and get back together with all these lovely people, I think it was a brilliantly executed ending to a brilliantly written character. I feel very lucky,” he added. “My suspicion is that Eddie did what he had to do for them [Duffer] Brothers.”

It was recently revealed that Eddie Munson’s last line was actually an improvisation by Quinn’s.
