Stranger Things: Metallica play Master of Puppets in The Hellfire Club shirts

As a tribute to Metallica, they performed their classic “Master of Puppets” in black-sleeved Hellfire Club shirts stranger things Character Eddie Munson.

In the final season of the Netflix show, Eddie – the misfit of a Dungeons & Dragons group called The Hellfire Club – heroically performs the rock anthem to distract demons from attacking his friends.

The 1986 song recently hit #1 on the iTunes Rock chart after being featured in the popular fantasy series.

In a TikTok video from Saturday (July 9), the band performs the song wearing the same logo t-shirt Eddie wears in the season finale.

“Eddie, this is for you!” The group captioned their video.

The TikTok clip shows the band playing in split screen with Eddie from stranger thingsmaking the video a sort of “duet” between the heavy metal band and the fan-favorite character.

stranger things Previously, viewers called Eddie’s guitar solo, played by Joseph Quinn, “the most metallic performance I’ve ever seen.” Metallica posted on Instagram to echo that praise.

Tye Trujillo – the 17-year-old son of Robert Trujillo – played the actual lead on “Master of Puppets” for the show, with Quinn doing the riffing.

Despite being new to the series in season four, Eddie quickly gained singing fans. The series’ creators, the Duffer Brothers, even had to grapple with the possibility that Eddie, who dies in the season finale, could return for the show’s fifth and final appearance.

They coherently explained Eddie’s alternate fate should he make it into season five, which is expected to release in 2024.
