Stormzy is asking fans to listen to new album ‘This is What I Mean’ with an ‘open heart’

Stormzy has released his third studio album, That’s what I mean.

After months of anticipation, fans have been able to listen to the artist’s latest project since midnight on Friday (November 25).

The album comes after the successes of Gang sign and prayer in the critically acclaimed sequel to 2017 and 2019, The head is heavy.

Ahead of his release, Stormzy shared a handwritten note on social media late Thursday (November 24) after taking inspiration from Tyler, the creator, while dropping Igor in 2019.

“I feel like I’m sharing too much which makes me feel naked at times,” Stormzy admitted in the expanded note.

“But I’m doing it so you guys can understand me a little bit better and to give context to the art I make.”

In recent months, the ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ star has been candid about his experiences with heartbreak after his relationship with host Maya Jama ended in 2019.

In an interview with Louis Theroux, the rapper — born Michael Omari Owuo — admitted, “I haven’t done what a man should do to fully appreciate, love and care for his woman.”

Additionally, his recent songs like “Firebabe” and “Hide & Seek” show a more romantic side of the artist.
