CHRISTMAS is still a few days away but a number of retailers have already started their Gifting Day sales and are offering massive discounts.

Bargain hunters and last-minute gift-buyers can already take advantage of discounts as stores look to stay ahead of the game this year.

People who like John lewis, Asos and House of Fraser have been rolling out huge discounts, with the price of some items down 70% or more.

Fashion, perfumery, electronics and sportswear are just some of the areas you can deal with.

This is not the first time this year retailers have decided to start selling early.

Just in the last month, many major sites have launched Black Friday sales or even weeks before the actual shopping event.

The Discount on gift giving holiday traditionally the biggest shopping day on the UK calendar, but this year a range of retailers have revealed they will not open on the day.

Aldi, Morrisons and M&S are among the businesses confirmed to stay Closed on the day after Christmas.

Some companies say they want to give their employees an extra day off to say thank you after a difficult year.

The next sale used to see shoppers queuing up from the early hours of the morning to grab the bargain.

But this year, the high street will does not launch its in-store sale until December 27.

Asos has kicked off its massive sale, with discounts of 70% or more on select items.

At John Lewis, the official Gift giving day the sale hasn’t started yet but already 50% off or more on select clothing brands, including Ted Baker Men’s Pants reduced from £119 to £47.

We discovered a industrial style ceiling lampshade for less than half the price – down from £45 to £22.

You can also save £150 for a Shark cordless vacuum cleaner, down to £199.

Boots are heavily discounting gift sets and perfumes.

You can save more than £16 on Hugo Boss Ice For Him – 100ml bottles reduced from £50 to £33.33.

In addition, half-price children’s clothing includes lazy pajamas down to £7.50 and a floral romper suit for only £3.

At H&M there are bargains on clothing and outerwear.

We discovered a tight quilted jacket down to £36 from £60 and a sequin dress down from £35 to £20 – in case you’re still looking for something special to wear on Christmas Day.

B&Q There are plenty of deals for those who have thought ahead to sunnier times in the garden.

We discovered a wood storage down from £145 to £100 and a rattan grower down from £82 to £42.

Curry’s doesn’t have an in-person Gift Day sale yet, but it does have a lot of so-called “fast deals.”

You can choose one Tassimo coffee machine for £29.99 – save £70 off regular price.

And we discovered a Bosch steam iron for £34 – save more than £45.

House of Fraser has also started an early sale, with savings of 50% or more on beauty and other ranges.

We saw a Lancome lipstick half price at £13.50 and 30% off a Chloe Nomade perfume gift set, currently £59.50.

As with any sale, remember that it’s only a bargain anyway if you want the item.

Shoppers should also watch out for dud deals – Research of which? discovered earlier this year that 9 out of 10 offers are actually fake bargains.

It said 187 of the 201 products it reviewed on Black Friday were priced at or above previous months.

As always, it’s a good idea to compare prices before you shop to make sure you’re getting a bargain.
