STEVEN GERRARD has risked the wrath of Roy Keane – by spending £50 on prawns at one of his favorite Indian restaurants in Birmingham.
The Aston Villa chef ate a Shan E Nisha shrimp dish at Asha’s Indian restaurant, which is a famous hangout for celebrities.
Not satisfied with polishing away a portion of the tasty shrimp, Gerard quickly ordered a second helping of the posh Indian nosh, according to restaurant chefs.
Uploading a photo of the Liverpudlian outside their restaurant, they revealed on Twitter: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome such a sporting legend to our award-winning restaurants!
“In case you’re wondering which of our dishes Steven recommends, he enjoyed our Shrimp Shan E Nisha so much he ordered it twice!”
But a former bitter rival might not be too impressed with Gerrard’s choice of dishes.
Gerrard clearly has good taste as Asha’s has made a name for itself with celebrities including Tom Cruise and Ed Sheeran who have also dined there.
The restaurant has a gallery of photographs of celebrities who have dined there, including boxers Deontay WilderBroadcaster Jon Snow, pop kings Cliff Richard and Ronnie Wood, and Harry Redknapp and Peter Shilton.
Gerrard’s tasty shrimp favorite consists of jumbo prawns marinated in yoghurt, cheese and a touch of cardamom and costs £24.75 a portion.
Top Gun Star Cruise also seems to have a big appetite, as he once managed to snag two batches of chicken tikka – a risky business at some less sophisticated restaurants!
