‘Star Wars’ fans are excited about the well-known voice in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’

Star Wars fans got a treat on Wednesday as Disney+ released the latest installment of Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

The episode offered viewers a first look at Darth Vader – played by Hayden Christensen, reprising the role for the first time since appearing in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

But fans went wild when it was revealed that the person voicing the Dark Lord was none other than his original emoter, James Earl Jones, Deadline reported.

Jones, 90, has voiced the legendary villain since A New Hope hit theaters in 1977 — a film for which he had just 27 lines of dialogue and just nine minutes of actual screen time.

Vader and later Jones have since appeared in several Star Wars films and television shows.

Fans of the franchise went berserk when Jones’ deep, distinguished voice reappeared during this week’s episode.

“VADER IS BACK! THE Darth Vader!!! Hayden Christensen & James Earl Jones!! Absolute goosebumps! This will be a day to remember for a long time.” wrote an avid Twitter user.

“This is all I ever wanted HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN is back but to top it off James Earl Jones is back as the voice of Darth Vader,” wrote another.

Jones is the only actor who never wore Darth Vader’s suit during his stint as voice over artist.

“Kenobi” has recently faced backlash against the casting of Moses Ingram as Reva, with some viewers directing racial hatred towards her.

The official “Star Wars” Twitter account – as well as Star McGregor – has hit back at the naysayers, saying they “resist” any attempts to make Ingram uncomfortable by throwing verbal abuse at her, explaining: “It There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist.

“If you’re texting her bullying messages, I don’t think you’re a ‘Star Wars’ fan,” McGregor interjected. “There is no place for racism in this world and I fully support Moses.”

Kenobi episodes 1, 2 and 3 are available to stream on Disney+, with new episodes appearing every Wednesday.
