A St. Bonaventure University cheerleader and a member of the Saint Louis men’s basketball team reportedly got into an argument on the court last Friday during the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball tournament.
Viral footage of the incident shows the cheerleader and a woman believed to be her coach storming off the court in anger. It’s unclear what was said due to the screaming fans at the game.
The St. Bonaventure University cheerleader responded to the footage on Twitter, claiming a Billikens player shouted obscenities at heraccording to several reports.
“That was after he looked me dead in the eye, an innocent cheerleader, and told me to shut up, b-ch, embarrassing,” Hannah Koning tweeted.
Koning’s Twitter bio says “Bonas” with a heart, while an Instagram account believed to be owned by the cheerleader also states “Bonas Cheer” in the bio.
On Friday, Mid-Major Madness reports that Jordan Nesbitt, a freshman guard for Saint Louis, “chirped about the Bonaventure cheerleaders all game long and gave them obnoxious names.” The outlet added how “he showed up at the end of the game and said something else.”
Koning also re-tweeted that alleging Nesbitt called the cheerleaders “names in disguise” throughout the game.
Nesbitt recorded zero points and just five rebounds in 34 minutes in his team’s win.
Saint Louis eventually beat St. Bonaventure 57-56 in the game before losing to Davidson in the semifinals.
The St. Louis University athletic department did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
