To celebrate the blockbuster’s impending release on digital and Blu-ray platforms, the stars recreated an image from the 1967 animated TV version of the series.
The original image shows the two Spider-Man figures pointing at each other, as each claims to be the “real” Spider-Man.
Since the recent movie involved having multiple versions of superheroes exist at the same time, fans used this image to describe There is no way home since release.
On Wednesday (February 23), the official pages of Marvel and Spider-Man posted images of the actors in the same positions shown in the cartoon.
“Of course, we got the meme,” the post’s caption read.
Fans of the Marvel movie have expressed their excitement about the prank image in the comments, with some claiming they were “screaming” when they saw it.
“This is why Marvel is the best at what they do. FAN SERVICE,” one follower wrote.
Spider-Man: There’s no way home has received rave reviews since its release and is said to be a memorable experience for the actors involved.
Last month, director Jon Watts says Diversity that he held a “therapy session” to the stars before filming, so they can share what the character means to them.
