An exclusive gift from a VIP scammer.
SNL’s Chloe Fineman recently revealed that she’s received drawings of notorious con artist Anna Delvey — the subject of a Netflix miniseries called Inventing Anna.
Fineman played Delvey, née Anna Sorokin, in a March SNL skit entitled “Inventing Chloe.”
“Thank you so much Anna Delvey,” Fineman said in an Instagram video. “I’m honestly speechless and overwhelmed.”
“It’s very prominent and very exclusive,” Fineman said in a heavy accent mimicking Delvey, who showed one of the drawings.
The drawing references a scene in the roughly four-minute sketch where Fineman, channeling her inner Delvey, asks an NBC site to use a MetroCard to order food. The drawing includes cartoon bubbles telling the skeptical employee, “Run it on my subway map” and “Run it again!”
“America is nuts, but at least I am,” Fineman concluded in the Instagram video.
Speaking on The View last month, Fineman said she saw Delvey’s drawing of the SNL sketch via social media and knew she had to have it. Eventually, Fineman began contacting Delvey directly, who offered to give her the artwork for free.
Fineman then sent the convicted felon her address.
“She knows my apartment number,” Fineman told the hosts of The View.
Delvey is in an ICE detention center awaiting deportation to Germany. In 2019, she was convicted of eight counts, including grand theft, after posing as a German heiress and defrauding unsuspecting New Yorkers out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Fineman said she had two drawings by Delvey.
“And I have two, so someone gets a gift,” Fineman said.
