Snip3down Teases Apex Legends Pro Return Amid Halo Infinite Concerns: “I’m Not Happy”

FaZe Clan’s Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona is working on a return to Apex Legends after growing frustrations in Halo esports could potentially lead to another career change.

The Halo legend isn’t too keen on the progress, or lack thereof, in Infinite’s development and is mulling the idea of returning to EA’s racetrack, possibly in time for July’s ALGS Championship.

“I’m not a fan,” Snip3down said. “I’m not happy. I’m not happy. I’m not at all. That’s why I’m trying to go to this Raleigh event.”

NICKMERCS interrupted by saying “Come back to Apex,” to which the FaZe member simply replied, “It’s in the works, let’s just say it.”

Snip3down left his place on TSM’s Apex team to seek a return to Halo esports.

It’s unclear if the FPS pro will stay with FaZe Clan to lead a new branch of the organization or if he intends to end up on a different team. The latter could open the door to a TSM return or another contender looking for high-profile talent.

The streamer even joked that he’d go to the ALGS championship and see if there’s an open spot he could fill on a team, but right now he’s “just trying to figure it out.”

Snip3down’s departure from the apex scene took an emotional toll on the 31-year-old vet. He is best known for his time at TSM Apex alongside Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Lassen and Jordan ‘Reps’ Wolfe.

Even after his move to Halo Infinite, Snip3down couldn’t stay far from the Apex scene, joining NICKMERCS’ ALGS roster before being forced to retire due to scheduling conflicts with the Halo Championship Open Series.

The mounting problems in Halo Infinite from both a gameplay and competitive perspective were a major point of contention with its fan base.

During Halo Infinite’s introductory phase, the esports scene and the entire fan base of the FPS arena shooter received a surge of user support upon release. Esports organizations and players returned to the Halo ecosystem, but the honeymoon would soon end.

343 Industries intends to fix the biggest issues surrounding Halo Infinite and its esport, but it seems that at least Snip3down already has one foot out the door to compete in Apex again.
