TIKTOKER has revealed an ingenious trick that makes it easy to tell if the kids have arrived home safely.
We’ve all done it, forgetting to text a loved one to let them know we got through the front door just fine – and kids are especially bad at keeping their heads clear.
But luckily, there’s an easy way on the iPhone that can do it for them every now and then.
Plus, it’s not just for kids, it can be applied to any forgetful person who wants to reassure loved ones without having to do anything.
TikTok star Katarina Mogus showed her 2.4 million followers how it’s done – and it’s really, really easy.
All you have to do is find Shortcuts application.
From there, go to Automation and click + button.
On the next screen, select Create personal automationFollowed by Arrive.
Light weight Location and enter your address, tap Done Once completed.
Now press Next in the top right and select Send Message.
Here you can enter a message to send every time you get home – for example: ‘Hi, I’m home!’ – and select the person you want to receive by touching Receiver.
Finally, click Next and Done.
Now, whenever the kids are at home, their phones can automatically text you.
However, making sure they don’t turn it off is another matter…
As one commenter emphasized: “Imagine you sneak out and forget to turn it off and you come back home. (Sic)”
