Skiers hit slopes in Vermont as temperature soars to 90

The summer heatwave isn’t keeping skiers off the slopes in Vermont.

“It’s going to be hot on Saturday as the temps flirt with the 90-degree mark!” the famed resort of Killington posted on its website. “Superstar is ready to rock with top-to-bottom skis.”

“Superstar” is a World Cup ski slope on Skye Peak. The resort’s webcam shows a swath of white cutting through the lush foliage, with scores of skiers descending the slope.

Killington’s website says the mountain still has 20 inches of snowpack, though it says no new snow has fallen in the past 24 hours.
