Six people shot dead in Atlanta Park; a dead, 6-year-old badly injured

One person was killed and a 6-year-old child was left in critical condition after a gunman opened fire at an Atlanta park Sunday night.

A man in his 30s was fatally shot and five others, including the child, were hit by gunfire during the 7pm shooting, local outlets say reported.

The shooting was sparked by an argument during a baseball or softball game being played at Rosa L. Burney Park.

“As we have said countless times, all we are asking is that citizens find a way to resolve conflicts without guns,” Atlanta Deputy Police Commissioner Charles Hampton Jr. told NBC affiliate 11Alive News.

“We’re just asking people to step down. We ask people to just let the past be.

The man, in his 30s, was taken to Grady Hospital but could not be rescued, according to the local news station.
