‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods leads the box office on Friday

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” showcased superhero powers on opening night and grossed $11.7 million as of Friday, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

The Post gave the sequel to the 2019 original “0 stars for a teenage train wreck.”

“Scream VI,” which was at number one last week, screeched to second with nearly $5.2 million in sales.

The horror film, the first in the slasher series to be set in New York City, enjoyed a $44.5 million opening weekend, the highest of any in the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut, Creed III, is still gathering momentum, winning third prize this Friday, taking home nearly $4.36 million.

The sci-fi action film ’65’ came in fourth with grossing nearly $1.6 million.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania came in fifth place, earning nearly $1.2 million.
