Severe weather hits the Northeast and Plains this week

Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes swept across the Northern Plains and upper Midwest on Memorial Day Monday and into the early hours of the morning.
Tuesday
While the threat of severe storms is very likely on Tuesday, the chances of tornadoes are much less. Large hail and strong winds with an isolated tornado chance stretch from Michigan to Texas.
Since it rains day after day in the same areas, flash flooding is a problem.
Oklahoma City, Kansas City and Chicago face a tough evening commute.
Wednesday
The Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma are again expecting severe thunderstorms and a possible tornado on Wednesday. The threat is also spreading in Ohio, northern Pennsylvania and western New York.
Up to five inches of rain could fall from Missouri to the Texas Panhandle by midweek.

Thursday
The serious threat continues Thursday, moving to the mid-Atlantic states.
