Severe thunderstorm warning rolls in for Orange, Person and Granville counties

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – A handful of counties in central North Carolina are under a severe thunderstorm warning.

These counties include Durham, Orange, Granville, Person, Vance and Warren counties.

The National Weather Service says that threat expires at 7 p.m. in those areas. Affected locations include Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Creedmoor and Mebane.

If you are in these areas, beware of strong winds of around 60 miles per hour. Hail is also possible.
