Severe thunderstorm warning for part of Orange County

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — Amid a severe thunderstorm watch for much of central North Carolina on Sunday, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northwest Orange County through 5:30 p.m
Storms are gathering from the west and are expected in the Triangle region through 9 p.m. when the severe thunderstorm watch expires.
The storms’ dangers include damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and quarter-size hail, the National Weather Service said.
Quarter-size hail was reported in Guilford County as a severe storm hit the county’s eastern areas around 4:20 p.m. Nickle- to quarter-size hail was also reported as the storms moved east in Alamance County.
Rain levels of between a half and three-quarters of an inch are possible in Sunday night storms.
