Serious’s Dan Walker shares crash video that saw him rush to A&E for a brain scan

SERIOUS Come Dance Star Dan Walker has shared a video of an accident that left him hospitalized for a brain CT scan.

The BBC breakfast star made headlines on social media with a clip from September that shows him slamming his head into a glass door in a hotel lobby.

Dan, 44 years old, was taken to the hospital and had his brain scanned after banging his head against a closed glass door before the show premiered in the fall.

He shared a video of the moment who got it wound – which almost saw him pull the series before it even came out – to follow his Instagram.

The footage shows Dan running towards the hotel door after realizing he had left his wallet in the back of a taxi that dropped him off there.

Without noticing the closed glass door, the TV star could be seen bouncing out of the glass and falling to the floor as hotel staff rushed to his aid.

News presenter Dan followed a series of photos of the painful tumor left on the left side of his forehead after the accident.

He captioned the snaps: “I’ve got some great memories from Serious but I’ll never forget that it was almost over before it started!

“This is the incident that led to the brain scan in September! The staff at the hotel and A&E were great and I was able to return to training after 3 days of rest.

“I left my wallet in the taxi but completely ignored the large glass in the way as I was running out before the car sped away.”

Dan detailed that he was examined by doctors for a “cartoon bump” and a cracked lip, “not as serious as it seems”.

Luckily for the presenter, he was allowed to return to the serious dance floor just three days later after “shooting and being asked to take a break”.

Dan has heaped praise on his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova for “going with him to A&E” and helping him recover.

“She had to hide in the parking lot for hours because we were not informed of the premiere at his time,” he concluded. “Feels like a lifetime ago and can laugh about it now.”

BBC Breakfast star Dan revealed about his accident in September, shared a selfie from the hospital as he told fans he was “a bit nervous”.

“A bit of drama based on early today,” he wrote. “After banging my noggin on the glass window yesterday, I was sent to A&E today because I was feeling a bit nervous.”

Confirming he didn’t have a “brain bleed”, he added: “I have to rest for a few days, so I’ll stay a bit, but ready to dig next week.”

Dan made it to the quarterfinals of Seriously Coming to Dancing last month – but was knocked out after facing AJ Odudu in a dance match.

When AJ was forced to postpone the final due to a severe leg injury, the EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis fought Bake Off’s John Whaite for the title.

Deaf star Rose and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice were voted contest winners by home viewers on Saturday night.
