BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has revealed the unexpected career switch he would choose if he weren’t in television.
News presenter, 44 years old, who has been overseeing his content for the last year Seriously come to danceopened up about his alternative life plan in a chat on his Instagram Story.
One of DanFollowers asked, “What job would you do if you had to change your career?”
He posted a photo of himself riding on a train wearing a mask, to which he replied: “I would love to mow the council lawn.
“I’d love to be on one of those ride-on lawnmowers,” before adding a smiling Emoji face.
In another Instagram slide, he said how he would love to host “both” a quiz show and a talk show.
His first show aired on February 29th and he co-presented the show with Louise Minchin before she left.
Dan hit the headlines in 2018 after his salary was revealed earns almost double what his female colleagues make.
However, Dan points to the fact that his income comes from participating in many shows.
Dan has hosted the BBC’s Football Focus program since taking over from Manish Bhasin in August 2009.
He also presents on BBC Radio 5 Live and regularly reports for Final Score and Match Of The Day.
Dan was also a key member of the BBC Sport team including the 2010 World Cup, the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Dan revealed in April 2021 that he has leave Football Focus after 12 years.
He teased that he gave up because there was “an interesting opportunity or two” coming his way.
A short time later, he starred in the film serious dance with his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova.
