Senator Elizabeth Warren tests positive for COVID-19 breakthrough

The Massachusetts Democrat tweeted that she was vaccinated, had a booster shot and was experiencing mild symptoms in a breakout case of the virus.
“Thankfully, I have only experienced mild symptoms and am grateful for the protection against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated and boosted,” she wrote, on the occasion also urging anyone who hasn’t been vaccinated to do the same.
I test regularly for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive for a breakout case. Thankfully, I have only had mild symptoms and am grateful for the protection against serious illness that comes with vaccinations and boosters.

Warren did not elaborate on where she may have contracted the virus but said she regularly tests and tested negative for COVID-19 earlier this week. A spokesperson for her office did not respond to an email seeking comment on Sunday.
Warren was on the US Capitol this week alongside other senators as Democrats seek to pass President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion Build Back Better social and environmental bill. .
