Security firm Liberty Safe is grappling with cancellation requests for allegedly supporting the FBI investigation Jan. 6

Gun security firm Liberty Safe is facing backlash from conservatives online after the company confirmed it was cooperating with the FBI in an investigation into a case many believe is linked to the infamous Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

As authorities continue their investigation into the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots, firearms security company Liberty Safe is the latest brand to be hit by the collateral damage from the Washington protests, and several of the company’s customers are unhappy after the company confirms this It had recently provided customer information to the FBI.

Liberty Safe admits FBI cooperation in January 6 riots

Some two and a half years after the infamous January 6 riots, in which thousands of protesters stormed the US Capitol, leaving dozens injured and several dead, the country’s authorities are finally beginning to crack down on those alleged to be responsible – former President Donald Trump down to the local people.

And gun protection giant Liberty Safe was implicated in the January 6 debacle after it confirmed today, September 6, that it had assisted the FBI in a recent investigation. Although the exact details of the case they helped with are unknown, what was provided in the company’s statement matches that of one The story was published online this weekin which a prominent conservative report claimed that Liberty Safe assisted the FBI in arresting an individual believed to be connected to the January 6 riots.

However, at the time of writing, it is unclear whether the case in which Liberty Safe assisted the FBI was related to the Jan. 6 riots HITC has reached out to the company for comment.

Liberty Safe’s statement sparks angry boycott calls

While Liberty Safe’s statement has neither confirmed nor denied that the company helped arrest anyone suspected of taking part in the Jan. 6 riots, numerous conservative Twitter users appear to believe it is – and it’s safe to say that I’m not happy with the way the security company has acted.

“If Liberty Safe had one brain cell of common sense left in their entire business, they would profusely apologize for giving the Fed the passcode for their client’s safe,” a prominent conservative voice wrote online. “But they won’t,” he continued, “(because) they’re FedSafe and not LibertySafe.”

“Your guns are not safe in a Liberty safe. Return them immediately,” added another. “Cancel all orders. They will give your passcode to the government.”

Why are people comparing Liberty Safe to Bud Light?

Liberty Safe’s decision to assist the FBI in its investigation was felt by many to be a betrayal of trust. Although Liberty Safe emphasized that it is “committed” to protecting customer privacy, the company noted that its protocol dictates that it should assist in an investigation if a valid search warrant is available – which it did in this case .

The essence of the backlash, however, lies in the fact that many conservatives are clearly convinced that a search warrant does not justify the release of customer data to the authorities.

Those comparing Liberty Safe to Bud Light do so because they believe Bud Light also sold out its customer base when it partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in April this year – a move that has seen many of its customers, who appeared, was extremely unpopular feeling uncomfortable with promoting a queer person.

So when political commentator Collin Rugg writes, “We’ve officially found the Bud Light of gun safes,” he’s essentially saying that Liberty Safe is the next company on an ever-growing list of companies he thinks conservatives should stay away from The values do not align with the moral code of him and other like-minded people.

Security firm Liberty Safe is facing “cancellation calls” for appearing to have aided an FBI investigation. She first appeared on HITC on January 6th.
