(KFQX) – Colorado Secretary of State Jenna Griswold gave Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters three days to comply with the new election security protocols, “This order that I be silent, stop investigating the election, apologize and then I can go back to my office, I say never,” said Tina Peters.
The Minister’s Order would limit Peters’ duties as Clerk, but allow her to continue her work as the County’s Designated Elections Officer, an order Peters refuses to – put power back to the voters. “Given the choice between breaching the confidence of the voters, or my oath and angering the existing powers, I will side with the voters,” Peters said.
Peters met in front of supporters, “We stand before the center of justice for a reason,” Peters said, “Me and those who stand with me have paid a heavy price and it’s not over yet . ”
But her big announcement? “I officially announce that I am running to be your Mesa County Clerk,” Peters announced.
