Phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has finally begun on the small screen thanks to Secret Invasion, a spy-powered Disney+ series that features new episodes every Wednesday. Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury in this exciting collaboration with creator Kyle Bradstreet. While audiences have come to know him over the years, this latest show takes another look at his personal life. To answer the questions we all have following the release of Episode 2, who is Priscilla Fury in Secret Invasion, is she Nick Fury’s wife and who is playing her?
Who is Priscilla Fury in Secret Invasion?
At the end of Episode 2 entitled “Promises” we see Nick driving alone before arriving at a country house. Once inside, we witness a Skrull in the kitchen going about its daily activities. Before Nick greets her, she transforms into a human form.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?” she asks Nick, encouraging him to leave the room and re-enter, this time with a wedding ring on his finger.
The Skrull is actually Nick’s wife and her name is Priscilla Fury. They kiss in the kitchen and her role in the rest of the series could be expanded. Although this is the first time we’ve met her, Nick was alluding to his partner from the past in the MCU. “My wife kicked me out,” he once said to Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which has a significant impact on Secret Invasion’s tone.
“I didn’t know you were married,” Steve replied, to which Nick replied that “there are a lot of things you don’t know about me.”

Who plays Nick Fury’s wife in Secret Invasion?
Priscilla Fury is played by 69-year-old American playwright and actress Charlayne Woodard.
She has showcased her talent in a number of projects that audiences will be familiar with, including films such as Unbreakable (she played Elijah’s mother), directed by M. Night Shyamalan, Glass (Mrs. Price) and “The Crucible” (Tituba).
On the other hand, she may be better known and more productive in terms of her television work; Animal Kingdom (Pam Johnson), In Treatment (Rhonda), Prodigal Son (Dr. Gabrielle Le Deux), Pose (Helena St. Rogers), Sneaky Pete (Hickey), Law & Order: SVU (Sister Peg) and ER (Angela Gilliam).
She recently shared a handful of Secret Invasion-themed posts on Instagram.
“Does Fury know about his wife?”
Since Priscilla changes form just before Nick’s appearance, viewers are curious as to whether Nick knows his wife is a Skrull or whether she is successfully tricking him.
“Wait, so does Fury know about his wife or not?” a fan recently asked on Twitter.
“They tell me Nick Fury has a wife and he may not know she’s a Skrull,” pointed out another like-minded viewer.
Ultimately, future episodes will reveal more about their couple’s relationship. Whatever the answer, it’s certainly a great way to prompt discussion at the end of an episode.
