Chef Gordon Ramsay says he’s just as hard on kids as he is on adult chefs
Master Chef Junior Season 8 is heating up and the competition is fierce, especially when the grand prize is the title Master Chef Juniora sweet trophy and $100,000 in cash.
Ramsay said he loves this show because the kids are passionate about cooking. “We know that children cook without fear. So when you have this raw talent that has an educated palate at such a young age, it’s like the best art class in the world,” he said meeting in 2017.
“You start with these raw ingredients and over the course of the 60 minutes it builds into something magical. I think the difference I made during the show was that at the beginning of the program I asked, ‘Give me your attitude. give me what you have Then show me how damn good you are. No mom and dad. No principal. No school teacher. Give it to me. Do your best and show me how cocky you are,'” he said.
Ramsay also insisted He’s just as hard on the kids as with each of his cooks. “I’m no different than these kids — I find that balance in a way that recognizes their vulnerabilities and drives them to utter oblivion,” he said. “I’ve pushed them to get better at them, and part of that journey for them feels like they’re getting worse because they’ve never gone into those areas before.”
So will the Pink Team prevail? A new episode of Master Chef Junior Season 8 is Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
