Scooter rider killed in NYC collision with BMW
A scooter driver died after colliding with a BMW in Queens, police said.
The fatal incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Saturday at 37th Avenue and 82nd Street in Jackson Heights, police officers said.
The scooter rider was traveling west on 37th Avenue when he collided with a 2021 BMW traveling south on 82nd Street, police said.
The scooter rider died at Elmhurst Hospital, the NYPD said.
According to police, the incident happened on 37th Avenue and 82nd Street in Jackson Heights.
The driver was arrested and charges are pending.
The 24-year-old BMW driver stayed on site.
The 24-year-old BMW driver remained at the scene and was subsequently arrested, police said. “The charges are pending,” said an NYPD spokeswoman.
