Sativa Transue: Boyfriend arrested in hotel bathrobe for allegedly beating American tourist to death at Mexican resort

A woman’s boyfriend from Washington, who was found dead in her Cancun hotel room, was arrested for her murder.

Sativa Transue, 26, and boyfriend Taylor N, 31, went on vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday in Cancun, Mexico.

A hotel employee found her in her room on November 27 and called 911 to report an unconscious woman. According to Mexican police, Transue was killed the night before, November 26. Her boyfriend was drinking and allegedly beat her to death, reports Law & Crime. The motive is yet to be determined.

A Twitter account linked to Cancun law enforcement published a blurred photo of the defendant in a suit that looked like a hotel bathrobe and said the man had been arrested for the crime. Suicide. Daily Beast. The girl’s boyfriend is still in prison for murder.

US State Department confirms Transue’s death in Mexico.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to the family for their loss,” a State Department official said. “The safety and welfare of US citizens abroad is the highest priority of the State Department. We are closely monitoring the local government’s investigation into the cause of death and are providing the family with all appropriate consular assistance.”

Sharing details of her sister’s death, Mykayla Bolieu, 21, wrote on Facebook that she was worried when Transue’s friends informed her of an altercation between the couple.

“My sweet sister was told to go to Cancun instead of coming home for Thanksgiving. And she left on Thursday,” Ms. Bolieu wrote. “Yesterday she texted me, showed me opinions, chatted with my daughter, Amelia. She told me she didn’t have the greatest trip, but she was enjoying the sunshine. ”

“By the way, last night she texted her friends, who are amazing. She got into a fight with her boyfriend and they said she had to have stitches,” she wrote on Nov.

She added that her friends contacted the police and the FBI on Saturday morning, as they were concerned for her safety. “We know the last time we heard her boyfriend was in jail in Mexico, and I hope he gets what he deserves,” Bolieu wrote.

Her mother, Jayme Bolieu, said her daughter looked “beaten up” when authorities found her.

“How did my beautiful healthy daughter die? In another country? It took his breath. A part of me is dead,” she said. “She is my child. I had her when I was 16 years old. We grew up together. She is my reason for living, my reason for living, my best friend.”

Her family also set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Transue’s body back from Mexico and her burial in Washington.
