Sarah Jessica Parker Tests Positive for COVID-19, Plaza Suite Closed

Plaza Suite star Sarah Jessica Parker has tested positive for COVID just days after her husband and co-star Matthew Broderick.
The Broadway show’s Instagram account said Thursday afternoon that the evening performance would be cancelled.
“Today, Sarah Jessica Parker tested positive for COVID, with a second test confirming the diagnosis,” the 57-year-old actress read in the social media statement. “As both Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker are positive for COVID, tonight’s performance of ‘Plaza Suite’ is cancelled. The producers apologize for the inconvenience this has caused viewers.”
There was no information on how long the shutdown would last. The announcement included instructions for ticket holders impacted by the show’s hiatus.
“News about future performances of #PlazaSuite will be announced as soon as possible,” the statement continued. “Everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery.”

Broderick, 60, has tested positive for the coronavirus and was forced to withdraw from Tuesday’s show just hours before his performance in ‘Plaza Suite’ – which opened at the Hudson Theater on March 28.
The married co-stars play in the three-act show a couple trio all reside in Suite 719 of the Plaza at different times.
