San Francisco Muni bus hijacked, suspect Rickey Dancy allegedly hits 10 vehicles

A man in California was taking a destructive spin when he hijacked a city bus over Thanksgiving weekend and assaulted its driver.

Video obtained by Kron4 shows the erratic driver speeding through the streets, dodging into oncoming lanes before coming to a stop on Friday night.

The suspect has been identified as Rickey Rene Dancy, 34, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

San Francisco Police Department allege that 34-year-old Dancy hit about 10 vehicles on the nearly two-mile “commuter route” through the city’s Mission District, one of San Francisco’s oldest neighborhoods.

At the time of the incident, there were no passengers on board the MUNI bus.

Dancy was sent to a San Francisco County jail and faced about 17 charges, including carjacking, felony evading an officer with willful disregard, and felony DUI causing injury.

The bus driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police.

No bail was set for Dancy early Sunday morning without a court date being set. A motive for the kidnapping was not given.

The Muni Transportation Agency oversees San Francisco’s public transportation, streets, and taxis.
