Salma Hayek brought home ‘Magic Mike’ strippers
Talk about taking your work home with you.
Actress Salma Hayek has revealed that she had a close relationship with her scantily clad male stripper co-stars while filming the latest Magic Mike movie – she even invited them over to her house after work.
“At the end of the film, they all came into the house. They all hung out with me,” she told People.
Hayek, 56, stars in the third and final installment in Channing Tatum’s male stripper franchise Magic Mike’s Last Dance. She plays a wealthy divorcee who teams up with Mike (Tatum) to create a stage show — starring strippers, of course — at a London theater. The cast got pretty cozy during filming, she revealed — not that there’s anything wrong with that.
“My husband is not a jealous man,” she said. “I kept calling him [from set] and say, “Oh my god, I feel so bad,” because I had this disposition to be like the boys who were strippers. But they are not. You are lovely. You are such great guys. And [my husband] says, “Oh god, you’re going to be the strippers’ best friend, aren’t you?” And I said, ‘Yes!’”
Hayek is married to French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, 60, CEO of Kering, which owns several luxury fashion houses including Alexander McQueen and Gucci. They have been married since 2009 and have a teenage daughter together. In a candid new interview on the cover of Glamour, the Mexican-born actress compared the wedding to an “intervention” due to her commitment anxiety.
Hayek said when her husband visited her on set, the strippers would even ask him for business advice. This helped win her husband over to her unusual new friends.
“Then François said, ‘You’re right, they’re gorgeous, they’re adorable,'” she said.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance hits theaters on February 10th.
