Russell Wilson ‘forever grateful’ for Seattle after Broncos trade

Russell Wilson turns the page of his decade-long tenure as quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.
“SEATTLE, I love you. Forever grateful,” Wilson tweeted Wednesday, adding his Seahawks number “3.”
Tuesday was Wilson sold to the Broncos in a blockbuster deal just hours after Aaron Rodgers announced his decision return to Green Bay.
Wilson’s tweet marks his first since the trade that sent him to the AFC West, where the quarterback pool is deep and includes Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and Derek Carr.
The deal won’t be official until the NFL’s new calendar year begins on March 16.
Wilson’s wife Ciara shared his farewell tweet with a white heart emoji on her Instagram Stories. Her Instagram was flooded with comments about her husband’s move to Denver since the news broke.
The pair made headlines last week after the Super Bowl winner surprised the Grammy winner with one proposal (although they’re already married), while Ciara guest-hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Before Wilson’s tweet to Seattle, he was picture Wednesday for the first time after trading with his agent Mark Rodgers. The pair all smile while posing together in front of a private plane.
