Roger Waters cancels concerts in Poland due to backlash over comments about war between Russia and Ukraine

Roger Waters has canceled planned concerts in Poland out of outrage at his stance on Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Earlier this month, Pink Floyd co-founder wrote an open letter to Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska, in which he accused “extreme nationalists” of “putting your country on the path to this catastrophic war.”
Waters has previously branded Joe Biden a “war criminal” for “stoking the fire in Ukraine.”
Polish media reported on Saturday (September 24th) that Waters’ upcoming concerts in Kraków’s Tauron Arena in April would not take place.
Venue manager Lukasz Pytko said Waters’ manager “decided” to withdraw the shows “without giving any reason”.
The Waters’ This Is Not a Drill concert tour website no longer lists the previously scheduled Kraków concerts.
Kraków city councilors were expected to vote next week on a proposal to make Waters persona non grata after expressing “outrage” at the musician’s stance on the war in Ukraine.
The 79-year-old recently suggested Ukraine should stop fighting Russia. He has also criticized NATO, accusing it of provoking Russia.
