Robin Williams “used to steal jokes from a lot of people,” claims voice actor Joey Camen

Comedian and voice actor Joey Camen has claimed that Robin Williams used to “stole” jokes from other comedians before paying for them.

Camen made the claims during an appearance on Marc Maron WTF Podcast when asked about encounters with the dead goodwill hunt Star.

“I stayed away from the guy,” Camen said. “He used to steal stuff. He stole my stuff. He stole one of my bits and put it on that Mork & Mindy Pilot. And I got really mad.

“And he gave me a check for $300 and said to me, ‘Don’t cash it until Tuesday.’ I was freaking mad at the guy.”

Maron then asked if the couple “got into a big fight” over the incident.

“I’m not physical, I’m not a big guy. no It was the fact… He stole from a lot of people,” Camen continued. “But the thing was, he only stole from people he could get it from. You didn’t see him steal from George Carlin.

“[It was] People nobody knew, or people who needed money. Some people might pay their rent just because he steals jokes. But the whole thing is he would steal your joke, go ahead The Tonight Show, and you’d crack your joke, and people thought you stole from Robin Williams. The worst thing you can do to a comedian is steal their footage.”

Williams died in 2014; It was later revealed that the comedian had been suffering from Lewy body dementia.
