It’s not a pot – Robert Irwin appears to be stepping out with another tragic Australian star’s relative.
Irwin, 18, son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, was spotted with Scarlett Buckley, 18 – niece of the late Heath Ledger – on November 18 enjoying a romantic evening on the beach in Queensland, Australia.
Photos published by New Idea magazine show the young couple with beaming smiles as they stroll at sunset.
The teenagers were also seen grabbing burgers and fries from a local restaurant before making their way back to the beach, where Irwin hugged The Dark Knight star’s niece.
Neither has spoken publicly about their budding romance, but Irwin openly follows Buckley’s personal Instagram account.
Buckley, who has an identical twin sister, Rorie, is the daughter of Ledger’s sister Kate.
Kate Ledger, owner of a design and media production company, has vowed to save her brother’s legacy from fading by creating the Heath Ledger Scholarship for young Australian actors.
Ledger was found dead of an accidental prescription drug overdose in January 2008 at the height of his Hollywood career.
Steve Irwin, world famous for his role as Crocodile Hunter, died on September 4, 2006 after being pierced through the chest by a stingray stinger.
Robert Irwin was only three years old when his father, the “Crocodile Hunter”, died at the age of 44.
As a result, both teenagers grew up in the public eye from a young age and have come to terms with media coverage of their family losses.
Terri Irwin, Steve Irwin’s widow, with the help of her son and daughter Bindi Irwin, has kept his memory alive through her conservation work for Australia Zoo.
In July, Irwin went viral after a TikTok showed an American tourist trying to get his cell phone number while visiting Australia’s zoo.
At the encounter, social media gushed that Irwin has his dad’s charm.
